YOUTH PROGRAMS
WLG - Work, Learn & Grow – Gain Work Experience & College Credit!

The Work, Learn & Grow (WLG) Program offers New York City youth (ages 16–20) a paid, 22-week opportunity to enhance their career readiness, explore postsecondary education, and gain valuable work experience. Participants may also have the chance to earn college credit by attending a CUNY course as part of the program.

WLG Eligibility Requirements
Special Initiatives WLG Programming
To qualify, you must:
  • Be between the ages of 16 and 20 as of October 28, 2024
  • Be enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Have participated in Special Initiatives SYEP 2024
  • Be a NYC resident legally authorized to work in the U.S.

CareerReady WLG Programming
To qualify, you must:
  • Be between the ages of 16 and 19 as of October 28, 2024
  • Have participated in CareerReady SYEP 2024
  • Be enrolled in a CareerReady-partnered high school
  • Be a NYC resident legally authorized to work in the U.S.
