East-West Connection Transportation

Since 1984, we have been providing individual and group transportation services that allow older adults the ability to live independently and lead productive lives. Our success has led to the growth of the program to include 7 buses and a sub-contract with a private car service that provides over 38,000 one-way trips annually with over 1,100 registered clients in Community Districts 1-7 in Queens County.

Programming and Services

Individual Transportation Service

The Individual Transportation Service provides trips for older adults who need assistance due to mobility limitations or an inability to drive or use public transportation. This service helps them access medical care and visit their doctor. There is a suggested contribution for medical-related transportation. Group Transportation Service

The Group Transportation Service provides trips for five or more older adults to a variety of destinations, including recreational, cultural, educational, and social events, as well as grocery stores, community centers, theaters, farmers markets, shopping centers, restaurants, and more. Our transportation program collaborates with several Older Adult Centers, NORCs, and community centers to offer these group rides. Group Transportation promotes socialization and community involvement. There is a suggested contribution for medical-related transportation.
