Corona Beacon is funded by the New York Department of Youth and Community Development. The Beacon model believes that children develop and learn best while engaging in creative environments. Serving more than 1,000 participants a year, from children to adults, our program has a structured after-school program, drop-in activities, holiday camp and summer camp. Our curriculum is designed to reach and engage all students. Our teachers are trained to establish a professional relationship, excite and challenge students with a personal approach.
With everything, we have to offer we give our participants the tools needed to excel in life. Students who were participants have had the opportunity to work with us in the program. This is another opportunity to help them while they go to college. Participants have graduated with a career as teachers, police officers or social workers. The opportunities that Corona Beacon offers to our families and community is to empower them to express their creativity and open their horizon. HANAC's goal is to encourage our participants not only to dream of being successful, but to empower them to make those dreams a reality.
