HANAC Harmony JVL Older Adult Center

HANAC Harmony JVL Older Adult Center has provided congregate lunch service and programming to the community for the last 35 years. In 2014, the NYC Department For the Aging (DFTA) designated this senior center as an Innovative Senior Center.

Committees

All members are welcome to join the various committees and clubs which assist in the development of the programming:

Advisory Council

Meets monthly to provide input on programing and activities for the center

Nutrition Committee

Members meet up to 5 times per year to review and make recommendations for lunch menu options

Sunshine Committee

Our Sunshine Committee provides small token of appreciation and consideration when our participants celebrate a happy occasion or are facing challenging times.

Fundraising Committee

The goal of the participants in this committee is to raise funds to benefit the different activities through jewelry sales, book sales, baked sale and trips.

Volunteers

Older adults provide their time and skills to assist with enhancing programming and activities

Event Planning Committee

On a monthly basis this group coordinates different recreational events for the entertainment of the participants.
