HANAC Inc., in collaboration with the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), is excited to invite you to participate in the 2025 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).
SYEP connects NYC youth with work opportunities that build career skills, foster personal growth, and prepare them for future success—all while providing your organization with enthusiastic interns ready to contribute to your team.

Benefits of Becoming a SYEP Worksite with HANAC
- Access motivated interns aged 16-24 for in-person, remote, or hybrid roles
- No cost to you - interns are paid $16.50/hour directly through the program
- Interns can work up to 25 hours per week during the six-week program in July and August
- Two Cohort Start Dates:
- Cohort A: Tuesday, July 1, 2025 - August 8, 2025
- Cohort B: Monday, July 7, 2025 - August 15, 2025

Worksite Requirements
As a SYEP worksite, you provide meaningful work experiences and help youth explore career paths while contributing to NYC’s workforce development. HANAC will support you every step of the way to ensure a successful partnership. Please read the requirements below to ensure you qualify as a worksite.
Location Requirements
Worksites offering in-person and hybrid positions must be located within the five boroughs of New York City. Virtual worksites, however, can be based anywhere in the United States.
Approval Process
Worksites will only be considered officially approved after both HANAC and DYCD have reviewed and approved your application.
Once your application is submitted, a HANAC Job Developer will contact you to guide you through the next steps.
HANAC will forward your application to DYCD for final review.
This review process may take several weeks, after which we will notify you of your application’s status.

Returning Worksites
Even if you’ve participated in the past, all returning worksites must complete a new application for the 2025 program. This is to ensure that all information remains accurate and up to date.

Start Dates
Participants can begin working at all DYCD-approved worksites during their assigned cohort week. All cohorts are six-weeks long
- Cohort A: Tuesday, July 1, 2025 - August 8, 2025
- Cohort B: Monday, July 7, 2025 - August 15, 2025

Visit the Worksite Portal and log in or create an account

Select “Click here to apply to SYEP 2025.”

For previous worksites you will have the option to access a copy to an existing application from previous years

Complete the Worksite Application for SYEP 2025

Sign and Click Submit

Select “HANAC” as your provider by selecting “Queens” as your Borough, entering “11102” as the zip code and typing out “HANAC” under provider name.

Check off “HANAC” as your provider and enter the # of participants requested.

Submit your worksite application! You are all set.
