HANAC offers multiple adult and family programs including adult literacy, child and family counseling, employment and training, crime victim services, legal immigration and many more.
Programs
Adult Literacy
One of HANAC's many services is to provide free English classes for adult immigrants. Our aim is to provide non-native English speakers with the tools they need to be come active members of the community. We offer HSE classes to prepare people to take the exam needed to obtain a High School Equivalency Diploma. Classes are free of charge and open to anyone 18 years of age or older.

HANAC realizes that healthy families represent the foundation of the communities we serve. HANAC offers a wide variety of counseling services within a supportive and confidential environment. These services are intended to enhance the families existing strengths and abilities to foster healthy children, productive adults, proactive families, and vibrant communities.

Employment and Training
In partnership with The Consortium for Worker Education (CWE), HANAC provides services to prepare individuals for the workforce. To assist those looking for meaningful employment for a living wage, the CWE and our community based partners created the Jobs to Build On (JtBO) and Worker Service Center programs. Through these innovative networks, we provide a vast array of workforce preparation, industry specific training and direct placement services.

Legal Victim Assistance
The NYS Office of Victim Services (OVS) provides funding to HANAC to assist victims of crimes to submit applications for potential reimbursement of out-of-pocket losses associated with the crime. Victims may be eligible of reimbursement of medical bills, loss or damage of essential personal property, lost wages, transportation to and from court appearance and medical appointments as a result of the crime, use of domestic violence shelters, crime scene clean-up, and moving expenses.

This program offers immigrants residing in New York City a range of services that include legal assistance, immigration application filing, translation services and Immigration workshops addressed to immigrants in need of adjusting to and succeeding in their new lives in America.

Weatherization
This program which is funded by the New York State Division of Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) provides the owners of multiple family dwellings and small homes, whose occupants are categorized meeting the criteria of low-income, the opportunity to have an energy analysis of their properties.

Our Health Access Program provides reliable and coordinated access to affordable care for individuals who are not eligible for the extended marketplace.

Alcohol and Substance Abuse Treatment Program
This program has provided services to individuals who have alcohol and substance abuse additions for the last 28 years. It is funded by The Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), and it's a medically supervised substance abuse treatment program.
